Fletching 2 - 1 Danehill

Another team that Fletching had comfortably beaten earlier in the season provided the opposition in this exciting bank holiday fixture. The warm weather certainly brought the crowd out, lending a festival atmosphere to this high-profile match.

With several big-name absentees, the fans were treated to some of their favourite second team players filling in admirably. Given his chance to transfer his good form in goal for the seconds this season, Bradley managed to miss the first half by driving to the airport, leaving top-scorer Pete Burchett in goal with only some fetching work gloves for protection. Pete coped well with the limited Danehill attacks as Fletching took charge, going 2 - 0 up in the first half. Greg Dann scored his first of the season from a free kick which the Danehill keeper helpfully slapped into his own net, after being put under pressure. The second was a superb individual goal from Ross, his 17th in the league this season.

The second half saw very little threat from Danehill, leaving Fletching comfortably in control without adding to their lead. A late goal conceded was to prove nothing more than a consolation, as Fletching returned to winning ways after 2 consecutive defeats.
