Fletching 1 - 2 Crowborough Athletic 3rd

The start of a gruelling 2 games in 3 days for the overworked Fletching first team saw them needing to come away with something from this game against mid-table Crowborough. Following some disappointing recent results, Fletching started brightly. As Crowborough found their feet in the game, Hyland was forced to reshuffle his defensive line-up to deal with the pacey forwards which were increasingly causing problems. Despite reverting to a back four, Crowborough scored mid-way through the first half having earlier wasted several good chances. The second half saw the game continue in the same vain and Crowborough soon scored a second, although the linesman was nowhere to be seen as the shot went in.
With time running out, Burchett volleyed in a truly spectacular noisy throw-in from Ian to give Fletching some late hope, but depsite late pressure the equaliser was not to materialise, leaving Fletching needing some special performances in the remaining games of the season against their promotion rivals.
